Traditional Cantarito
The drink that started it all: citrus, sea salt and a clay cup, ice cold. Here is exactly how our bartenders make it at every party.
Ingredients (1 cantarito)
- Ice, to the top
- 2 oz Cantarito Mix
- 1.5 oz tequila (or sparkling water for a 0.0% version)
- Grapefruit soda to top
- Chili-lime salt for the rim and a lime wheel
Steps
- Rim the cup. Wet the rim of a clay cantarito (or a tall glass) with lime and dip it in chili-lime salt.
- Ice to the top. The colder, the better.
- Pour 2 oz of Cantarito Mix and the tequila. Stir once.
- Top with grapefruit soda and finish with a lime wheel.
Each liter of mix makes about 17 cantaritos. For a party, multiply and serve from a pitcher.
